Measure the chest at its widest point behind the front legs. Boondog advises leaving room for three to four fingers between the harness and the dog. Depending on how you measure and how your dog is built there can be about 2 cm of difference. The ML size is meant for larger breeds with narrow shoulders, such as the border collie, husky or standard poodle.

Does your dog tense up when the harness comes out? The Boondog 0109 Harness is built to go on quickly: slide the front loop over the head, close one buckle, done.

It has two attachment points: a D-ring on the back for everyday walks and a D-ring at the chest for no-pull control. Clip the lead to the front ring and your dog is turned gently towards you when he pulls, with no pain and no force.

The 0109 fits almost any build thanks to five sizes, including the ML made for breeds with narrow shoulders such as Border Collies, Huskies and Standard Poodles. The adjustable chest strap keeps it from rubbing in the armpits. The solid back handle gives control in busy places.

Sewn with German SERAFIL thread from AMANN, the same used in German car interiors: it does not deform with changes in temperature and stands up to abrasion. The points under the most load carry a bar tack, a dense reinforcing stitch. The webbing itself is woven with twice the usual yarn, so it stays strong and still feels soft against the coat.

Checking the fit: three to four fingers should still fit between the harness and your dog. Measure the chest at its widest point behind the front legs and compare with the size chart.

Acetal buckle made by WOOJIN, the largest buckle manufacturer in the world; the curved shape keeps pressure off the neck. In a tensile test at the Korea Apparel Testing Institute the webbing held 5,212 newtons, about 510 kilos. Boondog also has the fabric tested against the EU list of 223 substances of very high concern; nothing was found.

The A-shaped angle is what sets this harness apart from an ordinary one: the straps run wide apart at the neck and away to the rear, so nothing presses on the throat and nothing rubs in the armpits. Set the adjustment clip on either side so the strap stays clear of the armpit.

Care: hand wash in lukewarm water (max 30 °C) with a mild detergent. Air dry. No tumble dryer. Do not bleach.
